40 Weeks and 2 days - Appointment

Our appointment with Sherry went well today. We had our Non-Stress test first. At first, the baby was pretty calm, probably sleeping, so she had to liven her up a bit! I actually had quite a few contractions during the test, and they were pretty regular, so she decided she would check me afterwards. The baby had nice accelerations (once she was awake!) and a couple of my contractions were actually pretty strong (as far as the test strip was concerned!) Sherry said that she thought my contractions were a bit more intense than I might realize, and that I must have a high pain tolerance... lol... I just laughed and said, "I sure hope so!"

Once she checked me, we found out I am dilated 1 cm, which isn't much, but at least I am starting to dilate! But she also decided she would "stir things up a bit" - to see what happens. So, since we left, I have been contracting quite a bit (to say the least!) It was every 10 minutes for a while, then down to 8, then spread back out to 15, then back to 10. So I guess we will just see what the night has in store for us!
