Today we met with a potential pediatrician. Her name is Dr. Vyas and she is in the same Medical Pavilion as the OB office. We were really impressed with her, and liked what she had to say. She is open to an alternative vaccine schedule, and has other patient's who choose this as well. She is open to holistic and homeopathic remedies, and will even suggest them when appropriate. We have a couple other pediatricians that we are going to meet before we decide, but we both agree that it's going to be tough to beat the impression we got from Dr. Vyas!
After the meet-n-greet we stopped by Community South to check out the hospital and see where we are going to have the baby! A nurse showed us around and answered all of our questions. The hospital was just renovated, (actually their grand opening is next weekend) and the labor and delivery rooms are now like suites, and everything is done in the same room! So we will not have to change rooms at all! They only have 1 room that has a tub in it though, but she said they usually try to keep it empty, so if there is a woman that wants to labor in the tub, it is open.
The baby will stay in the room the entire time. All newborn care and even their bath is done in the room. They only take the baby down to the nursery if you request it. We were very happy with all of the information we received, and were happy with our tour!
We also had an appointment with a photographer this week, that we really liked. Her studio is awesome, and her portraits are amazing. We are checking into a couple more before we decide - but we really need to decide soon so we can at least get the maternity photos done... before it's too late!
We start going to the midwife weekly now... holy cow time is flying by!!
