30 Weeks

At 30 weeks the baby is almost 16 inches long, and weighs about 3 lbs. There is about a pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounding him/her (but that will decrease as it gets bigger). Her eyesight is not very keen - but will respond to changes in light. If I shined a light on my belly, he/she should be able to follow it.

This weekend was Memorial Day weekend, and we were very busy! We finished up with all of our spring yard work (mulch, flowers, landscaping) and finally got the garden planted! The weather cooperated, so we got it all done!
Needless to say, I was pretty much "done" after 3 days... this was the first time I have really experienced the "uncomfortable" feeling that people talk about! Tuesday afternoon, the baby had pretty much decided that I was "done" bending over, planting flowers. I just sat on my cushion, with my legs out, and finished planting them that way. It was kind-of amusing! I was pretty tired, but so happy we got it all done!!

We had our 30 week appointment this week. The baby's heart rate was in the 140's, and sounded great! This was the week that I had to have my 28-30 week labs done... and our first appointment at the new office. The new office is nice - but they are still working out all of the kinks. So after the appointment, I went next door to the lab, had to drink the dreaded Glucola (to check to make sure I do not have gestational diabetes) and had my blood drawn. Also, now we start coming in every 2 weeks for our check-ups, instead of every month!
